Bill Dougherty has written 10 screenplays and 13 novels. While unproduced/unpublished, he continues to pursue his dream of seeing his stories on the big screen and on bookshelves of the major online and brick and mortar booksellers.

Bill Dougherty won 1st place for Unproduced Play at the 2016 Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Awards for his screenplay SHINYO MARU, the WW II true story of the 82 survivors of that Japanese Hell Ship. The screenplay also won the 2016 Dahris Clair Memorial Award as the top-scoring Royal Palm Literary Award entrant in the screenwriting genre.
